Love that Randall Gambler!!

I think mine is marked with a "S", which I have been told is for stainless.

What material is yours?

Thanks.

You are correct 'S' after the name is stainless, no 'S' means tool steel.
This one is stainless:

Thank you. Mine is from 2014 and was also my daily carry for many years. She recently returned from home office where she was treated to a new factory edge.

I've been seeing these Opinels in camping catalogs, and outdoor stores for years, but never pulled the trigger on one. They've been making these things for about 130 years.

Nothing fancy about them. A piece of wood, and a blade, with a steel pin for a pivot. There's a collar that turns to lock the blade in the open or closed position. And they cut like a razor.

This size has a blade just over 3" & according to my wife's kitchen scales, it weighs 1.16oz. You hardly notice it in your pocket. I paid a whopping $17 for this thing, and I'm going to use the heck out of it.

My son got me an Opinel a couple of years ago because he knows I like knives. It's a pretty neat little knife, and yes, it is sharp!

I bought this off BladeForums a while ago. Maker is Steevee, Lucas, from Poland. I have a smaller knife by him, his work is exceptional and really a bargain. I think I'll follow up and order a matching piece with a 5 1/2" blade, this one is 9 1/2".

Very nice! One of these Smocks is on my list. I never liked the holes in the scales though. You have solved that problem.
