Hello Everyone,

I've been thinking about keeping a good fixed blade knife in my truck. I know a lot of folks here do the same. I remember reading Para's post showing his Gerber LMF II setup in his truck. So, what is your truck knife and how/where do you keep it?

I keep a Morakniv in my car. Perfect inexpensive beater knife.

I have the cheaper version of the LMF2...the Gerber Prodigy. It's been in the driver-side door pocket of my truck since I read Para's post.

I have the Gerber that Para suggested in all my vehicles.

Leatherman and an Estwing tomahawk.

Grayman MegaPounder under the seat and a Spyderco Yojimbo in the front pocket of my seat cover.

I have a small, fixed blade easily accessible in my Jeep. In a bag with clothes, toilet paper etc I have a large military knife, not positive of model.

I have a Cold Steel Dive knife on my truck backpack.

Old partially serrated Scuba Pro dive knife left over from my scuba days, i keep in the center console.

Glock Field knife

I have an old Seki SOG Seal 2000 as my truck knife. It’s well used, but still has a lot of life left in it.

Slightly modified ESEE 5 (convex edge, 90 degree spine, coating stripped) stored in center console.

A machete, one I found in a hardware store in Mississippi, that was made in the Dominican Republic. I started carrying it after I ruined the 6" blade of an Al Mar SERE hacking around the door of a truck that had run off the road into a Bois d’Arc thicket. The bases of the small trees in it were around two inches thick. A woman was trapped in the truck. Besides ruining the blade, I got my hands ripped up by the thorns.

I suppose I pull a Danny Trejo if I turned into a dead-end street in the bad part of town, but only after I used up all the boolits on the bandelero. :-)

I also went with Para's recommendation, plus I have a Prodigy in there too somewhere.

A $40 made in the USA Buck Reaper. Not the best knife I own, but it stays in my truck just in case I don’t have one of my better knives with me.

I keep an ESEE 2.5 in my door pocket in a kydex sheath, it’s not a bushcraft type knife but has served me well for a lot of years from cleaning ducks and geese to skinning muskrats and mink and on one occasion it cut a seat belt. I know I should probably move to something bigger but it has met just about everything I’ve thrown at it

I settled on a Mora knife Companion for the same reason.

I do, too. I have a bunch of Moras. I am frequently reminded of how good they are for how much (little) they cost. One of the best buys in the knife world, IMO.
