I picked up a used M9 bayonet at a show last weekend. There was quite a bit of sand inside the sheath.
It seems like a genuine surplus bayonet and not a reproduction?
Can anyone tell me anything about them?
What was the time period when this would have been used?
What rifles would they be have been used on (A2, A4, M4, etc.)?

Says Lan-Cay got their first contract in 1992, so surely used on A2's, I would think. Probably the others as well. I believe it's still in use.
