The Emerson Thread...
Ernie made 18 Gray Scaled Combat Karambits for a friend of his, a decorated Marine who owns a gun store. They look nice...here's the link for details:

Are you going to actually use it...with his autograph on it? It does look great in green. Man I got a stonewashed Tiger a few weeks ago before they announced the new offer.

I don't know...I guess so. It's not really a Custom just because he signed it. Maybe more collectable...confused... Confused

There are mixed reviews on whether Ernie's signature makes the knife more valuable/collectible. Some really like it while others prefer to not have it. From what I've seen in the secondary, a signed blade will usually sell for less then the same model without the signature. I usually tend to stay away from signed blades myself but would have no qualms about using a signed production or even a signed custom. They're Emersons and meant to be carried. I know folks who carry full dress damascus cqc-6's with mother of pearl handles and use it regularly.

Yes there are people with their undies in a wad because when they orders the hattins it didn't say signature and he later added them. .. being nice. I don't get this. If you were not going to use it when you didn't know it would be signed then put it in your safe and forget about it. If you were going to use it then use it. What does it matter if the marks on your user blade are a rorsarch blot or resemble his signature?

Also sign ups for the lottery are open. I always forget, do we need to sign up special for the auction or just use our eki log in?

I bought the knife for its function not for collecting or investment purposes. It's hard for me to pick up an Emerson knife and not want to "see what it can do" Big Grin

I'm not sure I could do it. Would scare the hell out of me I'd loose it.

Guess that's what retractable lanyards are for Smile

Everyone registered for today's auction? I had to call for my ECA #, I'm 90, fairly early.

Yep, I've put 1 bid in. Mostly going to wait until the lottery is over before I get serious in the auction.
