I recently picked up a Stag Handled fixed blade knife. Blade is 4" Knife appears to be old. Have searched several sites and have not found that maker. The Hallmark is a Diamond with SR in center. I am into mostly Case and Gerbers. I still have not figured out how to post pic, Hope someone can help me out. Thank You for Looking.

Here's the thread on how to post pictures. How to post pictures. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Thanks for info, my computer skills are a minus 10. Any way does any one have any info on a diamond with SR in middle? Knife looks about 40's or 50's design.

If I had to guess I’d say the SR mark is probably a generic German/Swiss mark denoting stainless/rostfrei and not an actual Makers Mark. This message has been edited. Last edited by: YellowJacket, I'm gonna vote for the funniest frog with the loudest croak on the highest log.

Normally, Duetsch marks are spelled out. Have been doing research, could be Early SR Johnson from mid west. I know it is old steel, judging from how it aged, and ability to retain edge. My guess is from 40's. Sorry about no pics, my computer skill are below Kindergarten level.
