I bought the sharpening stone yesterday at an estate sale. It's in a wooden box and is aprox. 6" X 1 1/2". Outside the box says Soft Arkansas Oilstone SM6. Looks old but doesn't look like it has much use at all. For $5.00 I just couldn't pass it up. Any info from you experts here?

A Norton soft boxed 6 inch with little use? I can say you stole it for 5 bucks.

Thanks pace40. I was hoping that it was something I could use for some vintage knives I have lying around. The box was kinda funky but it cleaned up nicely and has some nice wood grain on it.

Yes but the one I have is a little different color and doesn't show any use as far as I can tell.

Those are good stones. Good price.
