My Cold Steel fixed blades in tanto form are finally working for a living. I have one at the entry foyer and one in the office, for the sole purpose of opening those AARP letters, as well as the junk mail from a myriad of businesses. The tanto short edge works well to initiate the opening, and the long edge slices across the opening with elan.

sonnydazeThat might qualify as an inducement. I have not been much interested in that blade design, although law enforcement is often drawn to them, particularly in Cold Steel folder designs.

sonnydazeI prefer a blade with a belly, so I can slice. Certainly, the tanto is perfect for selected tasks.
