If you could only own two knives, which two would you choose?

elberettasIf you could only own two knives, which two would you choose?
Hello Everyone,
As I get older, I'm becoming more and more of a minimalist. I only own two knives at the moment, which I believe cover all of my needs. Reading through Para's recent thread ignited a whole new interest in knives for me this past week, and has me considering changing my choices. So... Just out of curiosity. If you could only own two knives, which two would you choose?

rat2306If only two (no shopping allowed)...my late father's old pocket worn, aged and used fairly heavily Boker pocketknife (Mom has it someplace down home), and my USMC Ka-bar Mark II.

WRAM1Fixed blade: Randall model 14-7

These are the two I gravitate towards the most out of what I have.

NismoIf we're doing the one folder and one fixed then-
Sebenza Large 21.
Daniel Winkler belt knife.
I too went the minimalist route and have just been carrying a Victorinox Alox Farmer since it's so damn useful.

HobbsThese 2 but I'm glad I have lots of other choices.
They aren't even close to my most carried ... unless I only had 2

Will take a beating, easily sharpened, multi-purpose.

elberettasDoesn't have to be one folder and one fixed. Any two knives.

Doesn't change my choices or make them less practical.
If only two, get what fills your knife needs. "Like to haves" come later.

P220 SmudgeProbably the two on me right now, which I carry every day: a Spyderco Military in S110V, and a Swiss Army knife - today and most days, it's a Wenger Day Hiker.

BrowndrakeI have a custom made titanium Flipper made by Nic Groniger that is an absolute tank (and a work of industrial art). I carry it every day and that would be my hands down #1.
It is a one off, but here is a link to it on Nic's website:
https://www.gronigerknives.com..._MOD-4_Flipper_.htmlI just recently found and purchased on Ebay a W.C. Davis Loveless Style Drop Point Hunter with beautiful amber stag scales and a mirror polished 154 CM blade. I would hate to give that up, as I searched for it for years.
For my #2 choice it would be a toss up between that W.C. Davis and a Chris Reeve Mnandi that I ordered directly from CRK back in 2005. It has gorgeous mammoth ivory scales and a Devin Thomas SS Raindrop Damascus blade.
I don't like the idea of only having two folders, but practically speaking, I don't know that I really NEED a fixed blade for my lifestyle or the foreseeable future. The Groniger Titanium Flipper is incredibly strong and could serve as a hunting/hard use knife for the rest of my life. The Mnandi is a gem and could serve as an ideal small task/EDC/office blade.
Feet to the fire....probably the Groniger Flipper and the Mnandi.

braillediverProbably best to recommend knives that are available, in stock and the OP could actually buy.
The Spyderco Kapara rocks my world. I normally carry a 7 inch fixed blade from various makers, a folder and the Opinel.
Get 2 good ones and add an Opinel of an appropriate length. I carry an Opinel 6 for the dirty work and to loan people if they ask for a knife.
