Next video in line when I watched was Seb Loeb’s record run. Such an awesome driver.

That thing is nuts- the only place it’s a 1965 anymore is on the titles (assuming one is necessary haha)

For a guy who couldn’t make it through an entire WRC weekend, that’s pretty optimistic. Wonder if this was spliced together like their other “drives” (ads)?

I believe his Hoonicorn (the mustang) is all wheel drive, so that does take some of the fun out of it.
A Perpetual Disappointment...

I seriously doubt that.

Block is going old school in this one-off custom-built, tube-frame, all-wheel-drive, 845-hp “1965 Mustang.”
The car was designed by Block and fellow Monster Energy driver Vaughn Gittin Jr. and his RTR tuning brand. Autosport Dynamics in North Carolina built the “Ford.”
Carbon-fiber body panels cover a tubular-frame skeleton housing a 410-cubic-inch Roush Yates V-8 with NASCAR-spec heads. The engine is hooked to a six-speed all-wheel-drive transmission from the French racing supplier Sadev.
The suspension of all-independent control arms is machined from billet aluminum, and hydraulic handbrake controls give Block the turn-and-burn capability of his rally cars
The flat-gold three-piece forged Tarmac R40 wheels from Fifteen52 (price: roughly a grand per wheel) wear 295/30R-18 Pirelli Trofeo R tires (price: about $370 each) that will live very short lives

I was waiting for someone at SEMA and that video was playing on a large screen with loud audio, right behind me. I must have watched it 5 times, got old quick.
I'll have to play it for my wife on our home theater, real loud!

Geez, I remember when that road was all gravel, that was a hairy drive then. Now, it doesn't look any worse than the drive to Cripple Creek.

Ya, but it sure looks like fun!
"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Slight thread drift: (arrrr, he said "drift")
What, exactly, is the point of these cars built specifically to do nothing but turn perfectly good tires into smoke and rubber pollution?
Right up there with the fucking idiots that rev their crotch rockets until the exhaust turns cherry red.

Actually, Paul, I’m up there on the porch with you. I like the PPHC and all the history of it (thinking of the Unser brothers). Exhibitions like this, don’t do anything to enhance the chances for survival of this great event.

Here's the same car unleashed on the streets of LA. It has less horsepower though....maybe prior to the twin turbos? Still a beast. Yes, it is all wheel drive.

The PPHC takes skill, experience and a massive set of balls.
Burning the tires off a car takes money, stupidity and a heavy foot.
Just as an interesting (to some) note, my wife is directly related to Zebulon Pike who discovered Pike's Peak.

Not saying it should be banned. It's relatively harmless (assuming it's done in the appropriate venue) and if they get off on it, more power to 'em. Just eludes me.
But then, things that blow my skirt up no doubt elude a lot of people too.
