I'm just passing along the info in case any of you still have maglites and are interested.
edited to add pictures as requested. This is the inside of my Zanotti safe I just assembled. It's gray carpeting. And it's pretty white compared to the yellow of the standard bulb.
Amazon says it's for up to 6 Cell flashlights but the packaging says up to 7. Since mine is a 6 cell, I must be getting less than 530 lumens.

I still have one of the 4 cell D maglight, it's heavy and could be used to repel intruders, be interested if you get it how well it works.

That's pretty wimpy by today's standards, but still a good upgrade. Maglights still have their place due to their whammy factor.
What kind of runtime will you get with a 4-6 D cell maglight?

I don't know. The packaging says, "extends battery life" so I take that to mean since the LED draws fewer current than the regular bulb, then the batteries should last longer than with the standard bulb.

I edited the OP to add pics for you.

^^^^^ This the correct response.
A bazillion lumens that are unregulated will be a bazillion lumens for white wall hunters but will drop very quickly aka in mere moments, otherwise the heat will cook the LED to death.
Unless the LED unit is regulated with sufficient heat sinking, saying it's 530 lumens for the full runtime (whatever that might be) is pure nonsense.
The only company that uses the real output numbers for the stated runtime is Malkoff. I have a bunch of Malkoff drop-ins and if anything, Malkoff is conservative on output and runtimes.
They do make a Mag LED upgrade but it's pricey, however it's a true tool.

I bought the Malkoff for a 4 D cell about 15 years ago. Now it's a decent light but huge! I seem to remember the price was about a third of what it is today. Don't think it's worth it. https://malkoffdevices.com/col...-ins-and-accessories

I have a 2 D cell LED MagLight by my back door. Does a pretty fair job without huge lumen/candela numbers. My main whine with ML is the rubber switch cover falling off and disappearing while you are carrying it.
