| Wait, what? |
Hope your bones knit up soon. Even if WV allowed it, I’d never even consider riding without a helmet. Too many things outside my control. “Remember to get vaccinated or a vaccinated person might get sick from a virus they got vaccinated against because you’re not vaccinated.” - author unknown

Wishing you a speedy and complete recovery. Had a similar accident 25 years ago somewhat worse than yours. Good luck with the surgery. Do all the therapy, it helps.

You’ll be fine man. I did the same in 2008. Track day, turn 1, I went in way too hot. I leaned over more in an attempt to scrub some speed, dragging my puck and it was that fine line. I almost pulled it off, but didn’t. Down I went and I broke my wrist. That was on a Saturday. I went to the ER a few hours later (make sure no internal bleeding) and two male nurses attempted to reset it. Each pulling in a different direction. I was screaming fuck at the top of my lungs to the point the entire ER could hear me. It was that painful. In the end, they couldn’t do shit. Saw my ortho Monday, surgery Tuesday, Wednesday morning I flew to SFO for the Laguna Seca round of MotoGP and the meds wore off during my drive from SF to Carmel. The pain, oh my the pain. Toughest drive of my life. Anyways, they’ll likely do what they did with me. They’ll put you in the coma, then insert pins into the bones to put it back together. Post OP they’ll cast it. For 6-12 weeks you’ll have to deal with pins inserted into your wrist bones, that come up out of the skin and rattle when you walk or move. You’ll need to be as sedentary as possible during this. Probably week 6, they’ll remove the cast, do x-rays to check healing/progress. I did this at week 6, it was healing, but ortho said 6 more weeks. He re-cast the arm, 6 more weeks at which point cast got removed, pins removed, and I did PT on my own. You’ll have to be super diligent in PT, doing the exercises they give you to get full mobility back. Whatever they say, do it twice as much and ICE the fuck out of it every time. You will have to push and be extremely rigid about the PT. If so, you’ll get full mobility back. Then you’ll work on your strength. By the time all this is finished you WILL be looking at a new or replacement bike and come through this. Stay strong, you’ll make it. Wishing you a speedy recovery. I went through the exact same thing and have the t-shirt. You’ll make it brother. What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

Several years ago a local resident purchased a new Harley motorcycle and upon returning home on his 1st attempt to crab walk/while seated the bike backwards into his garage he fell over sideways and his head struck the concrete floor and died due to head trauma,,,,, Not wearing a helmet.... Surviving wife tried to sue the Harley dealership for not selling her husband a helmet.. Law suit got thrown out..... Supposidly his head struct the floor with the same force as if he had ran into a brick wall at 25mph without wearing a helmet. .......... drill sgt.

Nerve block will go away in 24 hours and some change. They’ll be on you to take your meds. Hope they didn’t give you oxy. I hated it so much I threw it in the trash and just dealt with the pain. Best of luck. What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

I hope they did. It is a wonderful drug. Just take it responsibly and not for longer than you need it. Avoid NSAIDs and use the narcs. ________________________________________________________ It is long past time for a Convention of States. Surgery appears to have gone well. When I first arrived, I was given fentanyl and Dilaudid as a cocktail. Was given Dilaudid a few more times since. Oxygen is approved for every two hours, but I'm only wanting it every 3.5 or so.

I chose the coat that I did for two reasons. First, it was armored on the shoulders, elbows, and back. I believe that saved me from much worse injuries. Second, it was that hiviz greenish yellow, with reflective bits. But I guess that only works when the other guy is actually looking.

Hell with the Shadow, motorcycle's are easy to replace. Wrists are not! Hoping for a complete recovery for you. No car is as much fun to drive, as any motorcycle is to ride.

Back in the mid 1900's , An E.R / O.R. Nurse told me this. About those that choose not to wear helmets. " I feel very sad that no one cared about them enough to tell them to wear a helmet, ( About the deceased) I feel very sad that he (The deceased) didn't care for anyone to wear a helmet.
