I have tried many different products ... and they have all had the same results. Tried a couple diy tire shine recipes from the internet with the same results.

I'm torn. On one hand I prefer a matte look but on the other hand I like longevity. Lately, my preference for longevity has been winning out and I'm about half a bottle into Meguiar's Endurance Gel. I think I paid $6 for it and each application lasts a month. A little too "wet" looking the first week. Everything I've tried matte (e.g. Chemical Guys VRP) lasts a week or 1 rainstorm. This message has been edited. I'm lazy so Stoner's More Shine aerosol spray is what I use. Lasts a good while, there is some splatter - more splatter if you drive before tire shine has dried completely. ________________________ God spelled backwards is dog

Woke up today.. Great day! |
I now use Durashine. Takes a couple hours to clean tires and apply but it lasts over a year.

I've tried many tire shines over the years. Many of them are very similar in performance in that they don't last long and turn your tires into dirt magnets. Chemical Guys Tire Kicker extra glossy tire shine is one of a very few that stand out for me. It works very good on rubber, vinyl, plastic.

And so the never-ending cycle of education and information that is SIGForum keeps on turning. I’m feeling pretty darn inadequate tire-dressing-wise sitting here with my spray-pump bottle of Armor-All. ![]() Truly, I’m going to check-out an offering or two mentioned above. None for me, I just give the sidewalls a good scrub when I wash the truck(s). Same for interior armorall type products. Leaves the dash too greasy. Dislike the stuff so much I pretty much told me salesman on my last 3 car purchases that I'd refuse delivery if they put tire shine on it. Though, dealership wash bay stuff is typically of the dirt magnet/sling onto the fenders type. The Enemy's gate is down.

I've hated every tire dressing I've tried. I just clean them and go now. "The people hate the lizards and the lizards rule the people." "Odd," said Arthur, "I thought you said it was a democracy." "I did," said Ford, "it is." "So," said Arthur, hoping he wasn't sounding ridiculously obtuse, "why don't the people get rid of the lizards?" "It honestly doesn't occur to them. They've all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they've voted in more or less approximates the government they want." "You mean they actually vote for the lizards." "Oh yes," said Ford with a shrug, "of course." "But," said Arthur, going for the big one again, "why?" "Because if they didn't vote for a lizard, then the wrong lizard might get in."

I don't care for the shinny look. It doesn't fit with the look of my Tacoma OR. I use 303 Automotive Protectant. It's a multi purpose protective and you can achieve the level of shine by adding additional coats, but it never gets real shinny. More a deep matt black It lasts for months. 303 makes some dedicated tire product but the standard 303 works well and I use it on my interior as well. Doesn't seem to attract dust and again it last a long time. Men fight for liberty and win it with hard knocks. Their children, brought up easy, let it slip away again, poor fools. And their grandchildren are once more slaves. -D.H. Lawrence

Just for the hell of it ![]() |
My go-to for the last few years has been 303. I would like something that lasts longer though. Might have to give some of the other options mentioned above that may last long. I don't really want a shinny option but would live with it if it lasted a few months. _____________________________________ Because in the end, you won’t remember the time you spent working in the office or mowing your lawn. I don’t like the shiny, wet look either. I’ve used Black Magic from Bleche-Wite for years and haven’t found one I like better. I’ve noticed that many, or maybe most, of the glossy tire cleaners seem to attract dust, this one is better about that. _______________________________________________________ despite them

For real?![]() |
Just want to add that 303 has never turned my tires brown after extended use. I don't like the shiny look so I don't really try the stuff that makes it look shiny. The matte/clean look is what I'm after. Not minority enough!
