Pay attention very closely to descriptions. Kuiu Ultra line is ultra light, strength is sacrificed for weight reduction. The pro line is ruggedized when compared to ultra. Outer wear vs liner is what I’d suggest thinking.

Everything is designed clingy but it all stretches. You don’t need to move inside the clothes as they move with you. Also things are sized and designed such that a large size in every layer is built to work with large throughout. Again pay attention as to whether they call it next to skin mid layer or outer layer, that is your clue. A mid layer guide jacket is exactly same size wise as a mid layer peloton item. A next to skin peloton will fit under the mid peloton when similarly sized. The rain wear is all sized as outer layers.

They are pretty good about casually mentioning to size up if you want to layer a guide jacket over another layer for instance.

I don’t have any purely outer layer upper garments, pants obviously are. The gear prioritizes weight reduction over durability. I imagine you’ll kill 10 sets of Kuiu chasing Carharts through brush and brambles, maybe 15. You’ll kill 15 Carhart outfitted hunters going from 7000’ - 10,000’. Another thing fan bois hate to bring up, you’ll freeze your ass off unless you you pay the pro money. Again, design is your going to be moving in mountains not sitting in a treestand. The pro series is touted as glassing gear, or Arctic conditions.

Dragging yourself over barbed wire and hunting white tailed deer isn’t what it was built for.

Does anyone own the FL Wick Hoody? I like the KILN, but I'm not sure about the mesh on the Wick. That seems like a weak point for it to develop a hole over time, especially with the thin material. The giant made-in-China lettering doesn't alleviate my fears with that either. They fit well and seem true to size.

I use a polyester sun hoodie more than anything I carry in my pack and was hoping to add a wool version.
