Yikes! My palms were sweating watching that chase. Not something I could do.
Ladies and gentlemen, take my advice - pull down your pants and slide on the ice.

I personally commend his professionalism given what he was just involved in, the result, what he just saw and what the rest of his day week, etc., is going to be like.

parabellumIt's fascinating to see how many of these people think they can outrun someone who is a trained professional driver driving a fast car with good suspension.

PASigRight after that car stops on its' roof, you can see some movement through the driver's window. I wonder if dummy there was reflecting on the error of his ways in the few seconds of life he had left?
On second thought, that may just be reflection on the glass from passing cars.

wishfull thinkerafter a mach 2 pursuit through a nearly fully occupied high speed space in the pursuit of an obvious problem child, that officer/trooper could've used that tone of voice to order more toast and the waitress would have smiled at him.

But the dude wasn't smart, so no way is he pulling over. These kids are a new breed of fuckers who think life can be like a Grand Theft Auto video game, just like the kids who ran over the bicyclist. No empathy, no compassion for others, they have zero connection with the human race.

c1steveThey are not thinking, kids and drivers like this. Just going on emotion, too lazy to work and believe they can get by being gangster like. Why work, when you can just steal. If he had a dad in his life, might have gotten straighten out when he was a kid. If no Dad, well thank LBJ.

parabellumHow do you know he didn't have a father and didn't have a job? We know he was male, and that's all. We don't know his race or anything else, so, how do you know?

YellowJacketGSP are professionals. I consider it an honor and say thank you when I get a ticket from them.

parabellumYes, many years ago- the late 1980s, I think- GSP stopped me for speeding on I-75. I don't know if they still do it, but back then, if they issued you a ticket they would take your driver's license until you paid or appeared. I asked him if he would make an exception, because I was planning on going to the gun show that weekend and would likely make a purchase. He said yeah, he was probably going to that show, too. He thought about it for a second and said "Tell ya what. Here." and he gave me my license. "Just slow it down a bit, OK?"

slosigI was just about to post, “Dang, drivers there are more sensible and respectful than here.” as they appeared to be waiting, but then the stream started, and while the first few were a good ways off to the left, before long they were cutting it closer than seemed reasonable to a stopped patrol car. Sigh I guess people everywhere feel like they just have to get somewhere now.
That chase was something else too. I don’t mind driving quickly, and I have been known to pick my way through a clod of folks blocking up the freeway using whatever lane is the path of least resistance, but there was a whole lot of Nope for me in that chase. Don’t get me wrong, the officer did a great job and made it look smooth and easy. It was just so darned fast with such a high relative speed to so many other cars that it didn’t feel like there was time to really even see the other cars, much less figure out what they were going to do so one could get by safely. I wouldn’t have been comfortable cutting through that traffic at considerably less speed than that officer made look easy. Hats off to him.
I’m glad our Darwin prize winner was the only casualty.

FlashlightboyI never understood the mentality of trying to run, especially in this day where technology will get you.
But it's highly entertaining to see Darwin's work fulfilled. No innocent people were hurt and a dumbfuck is off the road, never to be a dick again.

Let alone with what appeared to be a first-generation Ford Focus (2000-04) with (also probably) underinflated and/or bald tires.

Yeah, I’m amazed how calm and cool these guys sound. I’d sound like Rosco P. Coltrane in hot pursuit.

71 TRUCKA good friend of mine is a retired Police Chief. He once told me you can't out run a radio.
He said the car might get way ahead of him in a chase but all he had to do was alert the next town over and they would be waiting for them.
I do not know why people think they can get away. Eventually they will get caught.

And still, they too occasionally have some spectacular crashes. It's surprising that these things don't happen more often to "civilians", pursuit or no. Or maybe they do and we just don't hear about them because there's no dashcam video.
