Just bought a V Series to replace the 13 year old Vizio in the bedroom. 50” 4K HDR LED for $179 figured what the heck. On the Home Screen there are tons of apps I have no desire to use and would like to delete them. Or at least rearrange the apps so they are in order that I use them. Googled and YouTube shows a customize apps icon in the apps line up. However this TV does not have that icon. Anyone have an idea? By the way I am watching Top Gun Maverick in 4K picture is very impressive for $179. Is it Sony or Samsung impressive? No. But looks great for a TV bedroom. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. If we got each other, and that's all we have. I will be your brother, and I'll hold your hand. Here’s what I found and it’s similar to my Samsung TV. 1. Press the VIA button on the remote. 2. In the Fullscreen VIA Plus Apps Window you will see your added apps under the My Apps tab. 3. Highlight the app you wish to add and hold the OK button on the remote. 4. Then press OK to delete the app as instructed in the bottom right. 5. Confirm you wish to Delete the app. I copied and pasted directly from a google search result page. I understand that the steps as pasted doesn’t make sense. But, basically, you go to where you add apps. In that place, there’s a section showing the apps already installed. You highlight the app you want to delete and press and hold until a submenu shows up. If you just press and release, that starts the app. In the submenu, there’s usually 1) reload (in case the app is being flaky) and 2) delete. Some apps though don’t have the delete option. And it has nothing to do with how essential that app is. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." That is the older Vizio TVs way of doing it as well. I finally stumbled upon it by accident. You go to the apps tab on the Home Screen and in that is a tab that is buried that says Home Screen Apps. That tab will allow you delete and rearrange apps. However you can’t delete the Vizio apps and you can’t rearrange them to the point that the Vizio apps are off the Home Screen. So depending upon home many apps you have you will have to scroll off screen to get to some. No native Angel Studios app for Vizio so guess I will have to use the FireStick for that. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. You might not like the answer but the best way is to return that and buy a Roku TV instead. My TCL has been great going on 3 years now

Thank you Very little |
The ROKU tv's have similar issues with pre-installed apps, you can rearrange, delete, add. There are some apps you cannot add to a TV that you can on an Amazon stick or Android box so there probably will always be a need for a secondary app unit.

Smart TV OS's can always be bypassed by using a different streaming device. What is the ideal one, can't tell you but there are plenty of options. Nvidia Shield is considered on of the best but not cheap. Amazon Fire series are good, have used a Stick in the past. Roku of course and there are others. Only consider if it makes sense to to your situation, my Samsung TV OS is not ideal ether but haven't found a change that makes sense, yet. Only considered a Nvidia Shield but it hasn't changed since 2019, maybe on a new rev.

If one uses a separate streaming device the Amazon Fire Tv (not the stick) is the way to go. Beats Roku and AppleTv by far. Or an XBOX. That is how we stream on our other TVs. I’ll use the Vizio apps until the give me issues. Again, we’re discussing a $179 bedroom TV. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad.
