c1steveCriminals getting what they deserved, Brazil video
This Twitter page has numerous videos of criminals caught in the act, and receiving retribution. In the first video, a man carrying his 3 yo daughter is kidnapped in broad daylight. As the perp is moving them down the street, police come up and stop the kidnapping.
The crowd, so pissed at Brazilian criminals, beats and kicks the perp relentlessly. A feel good story, but really the perp had a pistol trained on the man and his daughter, and it would have been more equitable if the cops had shot him. Can you imagine being kidnapped while carrying your 3 yo child? What would have happened next?

RightwireThat crowd got pretty brave once the police arrived. None one made a step towards that until they pulled up.

radiomanSeems like a good time for the cops to take a cafezinho break, (after taking the perp's gun) then they can just come back later.

According to the story, the victim was carrying his three year old daughter. I’d think the only way to be sure of stopping the kidnapping without the victim or his daughter getting hurt would be to guarantee a round in the perp’s central nervous system. To safely intervene, one would have to be carrying and get however close they needed to to guarantee the shot without risk of hurting the victims. Not saying it wouldn’t be a good idea, just might not be something everyone is ready for.
Now beating the living shit out of the perp once he was disarmed and the victims were no longer at risk? Not much risk of adverse outcome there.
I wonder if the cops just stayed out of the way or helped with the beat down? Either way, I’ll bet that works better to stop recidivism and truly protect the community than George Soros bought and paid for DAs…

there was a time when the criminals feared both the police and able bodied non-criminals who would fight back.
now, they put on a hoodie and a mask, and they ain't afraid of nobody. Jail is just a place to get free dental work before getting released again.
