Pipe SmokerElon Musk successfully sends tweet using Starlink satellites
“…The CEO filed paperwork with the International Telecommunications Union for the operation of 30,000 more Starlink satellites earlier this month, which would bring the count up to 42,000 if approved…”
That’s a LOT of satellites!

parabellumThe only thing I can think of when I hear this douchebag's name is his self-centered I-should-be-the-one-to-rescue-them bullshit when those kids were trapped underground. Forget about getting them out safely, unless he was the one to do it, and that should tell you everything you need to know about the guy.
I'm not impressed by anything this self-promoting horse's ass does, primarily because impressing us is what he's trying to do. He doesn't give a fuck about advancing communications technology, or colonizing other planets, unless he's the center of attention, so fuck 'im.
Buy some black market THC cartridges and do some vaping, douchebag. Inhale deeply.

bryan11If this would break the monopoly / duopoly of cable and telco companies being the only internet providers free to abuse customers as they wish, I'm all for it.

I'm not going to get into any dialogue or sharing of opinions about Musk, but the technology underlying this tweet is very interesting. This tech could easily bring communications to areas of the country and world that are currently unserved, and force competition with ground based infrastructure. What this tech will eventually be used for is another conversation all together.

41He is always ahead of the curve. He is planning for the 5G roll out.
How long will it be before the satellite area is over populated?
The only downside is all the money he owes to the investors and banks.

gearhoundsI’ll be impressed when:
The tech is stabile, dependable, and self-redundant, and
It is less expensive than current options and stays that way after the competition falls in line.

mark_aHow will the Chinese block this?
We should be planning to drop 10's of thousands of cheap smart phones in to N Korea. The peasants will take care of the rest
