Those low tech Persian Shahed 136 drones are slick.
They may sound like a lawn mower but they are well thought out.

From what I can gather the wings dispel the heat with regard to it's heat signature and from the side profiles are harder to find on radar than a cruise missile.
Sometimes low tech beats high tech.

The engine in these things is a little 2-stroke, air-cooled 4-cyl. The power to weight sucks compared to a small turbine, but both the exhaust and cooling air don’t reach the same high temps that a turbine would. That makes it harder for IR systems to spot it and track it for a missile hit. They are also dirt cheap to make compared to even a small turbine so blowing them up is no big loss. Most importantly, however, is that they are made in China. Sure it is technically using some western IP, but that doesn’t seem to stop China from exporting them to whomever they feel like. Ironically, even though it was designed by a German company, I don’t think it would be legal to operate there since it is a dirty 2-stroke!
