The last several aerators I have purchased have been OEM jet aerators which are NSA certified but very expensive. Unfortunately they never last more than a year. I see many knock-off models on the internet that are literally half the price of a jet. Some with similar specs, better warranties, and half the price. One I found even has a Baldor motor who I think makes great electric motors. Anyone purchase a non-OEM and had good luck with it?

I don't know what brand I have but I'm on the original aerator motor that's 12-13 yrs old. The aerator pump has been rebuilt twice. Something seems wrong with your setup.

We've been in our house 18 years and have rebuilt our pump once.

Have someone look at it to see what is causing the problem.

Just because something is legal to do doesn't mean it is the smart thing to do.

Never even heard of them before.
Current home bought in 2002 and had tank pumped out 3/03. No problems since. Big house meant for larger family but just the 2 of us here.

What is the purpose of them?

Integrity is doing the right thing, even when nobody is looking.
