I ran across this reference in an article I was reading titled: USGS Mineral Commodity Summaries 2025. It is rather long at over 200 pages, but the interesting parts are the minerals and precious metal tables denoting which nations have the biggest reserves and/or production capacities. Take Iron/Steel for example, China dwarfs the USA (page 95), 990 to 81 respectively for raw steel. The impacts of this alone are mind numbing to me because every substantial project involves steel...buildings, ships, bridges, equipment, automotive, etc. This isn't a little hill to climb, but a mountain of mistakes and mismanagement we has the USA have to overcome.
