Anybody grow their own shrooms?
(Not that kind of shrooms.)

I've been considering this for awhile. North Spore sells bags of spawn for $30 and it looks pretty easy. As a beginner, I thought that I'd try the oyster shrooms and see how it goes. If I eff it up I'm only out $30.

Anybody grow there own? Tips? Pointers?

I miss living in Upper Midwest and having morel mushroom season. I saw they had an $80 morel kit.

I don't have any experience growing mushrooms, but am an avid gardner. One of the YouTuber gardeners I've learned a lot from is Gary Pilarchik and he has 5 videos on growing mushrooms like this one on North Spore 3 mushroom kit including the variety you mention:

Thanks. Good video. Looks pretty easy, but it looks like you only get 2-3 harvests out of each kit. I was thinking that they'd keep producing.

Growing mushrooms outdoors in garden interests me and sounds like they are muti-year. He grows them 4 different ways outdoors here:

I like to try one or two new things in my raised bed garden every year. Last year it was sweet potatoes and southern Zipper Cream peas. This year it is container potatoes (e.g. Yukon gold) and peanuts. Perhaps one year it'll be mushrooms.

I don't but have a friend that does. I cut firewood and give her green limbs (4"-6" diameter) from time to time for her to grow them.

Serious about crackers.

I do love porcinis, but I can find those growing wild around here. Morels as well. Just thought I'd try something different.

I used mushroom compost as a fertilizer on baskets of Strawberries I was growing and guess what started to grow out of the baskets, good old white champignons.

That's cool. I bought a few bags of that as well this year to mix into my raised beds with some other compost and manure. It's supposed to be some good stuff.
