signewtre: "I thought you could do the sleep study at home."
I did the at home test about 8 weeks ago. Simple, effective, wear a single use sensor on your finger and it talks to your smartphone app. My sleepDoc gave me the unit & carrier even paid for it.
There was no delay once the local referral was made to the sleepDoc. Even my provider group has a separate batch of specialists just for this condition.
Nearly 30years ago things were considerably more primitive & the old CPAP machine was more like a leaf blower. The 11 unit mentioned above is marvelous. The follow up tekkie had print out of multiple points measured that demonstrated multiple segments of sleep/air pressure relationship. No carrier quibbling over Dx or need.

2AdefenderIf I ever have another sleep study, it will be done at home. The last one I had in a hospital’s sleep lab was a HORRIBLE experience.
Anyway, thanks for posting, I ordered a new Airsense 10 as a replacement for my old Airsense 10. Great unit, it works very well.

On my second as well. Been using CPAP since 2005 or so, have had many machines. My first AirSense 10 was my longest serving unit. Ran it until I got the “Motor has exceeded use” error message displayed. Ordered a new one when they were on sale last year (at $600). Original still works, I hang on to it as a back up.
Also have the ResMed AirMini for travel. Super compact but a bit pricey at ~$920 or so.
