Pork jowl versus bacon
Anyone have a preference?

I ask because I've never had jowl cut like bacon although I'm sure I've had chunks in various dishes over the years. I'm considering getting some in addition to my normal bacon slab.

Heaven. That's what pork jowl is, especially when cut into slabs (or strips).
We bought a butchered pig earlier this year, and the jowl really opened our eyes.
We're addicted.

Hog jaw was what my grannie called jowl bacon. She would bread it in peppered flour and fry crisp. Very good. I prefer traditional bacon but will not turn up my nose at hog jaw.

Yep. With so many BLT fans here I thought it would be instantly recognized.
