Background: I am a member of a couple of forums that were created using PHPBB by a friend of mine and hosted by him. He passed away unexpectedly and I told forum members and his wife that I would take on the task of creating new forums on a commercial host as the existing ones will eventually expire.

I have gotten as far as leasing hosting services from GoDaddy and I have the existing domains registered in my name.

Moving the entire existing forums complete with all the existing posts/data requires more access than I have or can get. Members are okay with starting from scratch with new PHPBB boards as they're mostly just a gathering place for friends to bullshit in private.

I've uploaded PHPBB software to the relevant domains (if that's the proper terminology) but can't seem to "publish" or "activate" or whatever the proper term is so I can start adding members and get back to yakking.
