I'm posting this here hoping it will get more traction and I get the answers I need.

So I paid the $50 to have Silencer Shop form 1 my SP5K. I figured it would be easier since they already have my fingerprints.

I tore the house apart to find the paperwork for a trust I made 10 years ago for my first SBRs. I wanted this because it would have a short and simple name to engrave on the gun (ie Walker Trust). I didn't want to engrave a trust name that is a mile long like Silencer Shop's trust normally are (ie SP5K-PDW serial number ***-***** Trust). It's bad enough that we still have to engrave form 1 SBRs. I didn't want a retarded long name engraved on a $3,000 gun. I added pics of the gun and all the trust documents to the Silencer Shop's portal and submitted it to them.

Nine days later and I finally get a notification that everything needs to be signed and certified with the ATF. After an hour of trying the eform site decided to work and everything was completed.

I'm looking through the emails Silencer Shop sent me and I noticed they didn't use the trust I sent them. Instead they submitted one of their single shot trusts with the retarded long name (that I didn't select or pay for). And now I can't get them to respond when I contact them.

Can they even fix this at this point?

They messed up the paperwork on my first machine gun, ATF kicked it back seven months into the process, put me at the back of the line.

Anyway, as a new SOT, I did my first Form 4 on eForms yesterday with a customer. Even though the can came from Silencer Shop, I want to ween myself from them. Fortunately, my customer had recently Form 1'ed a few homemade cans and knew the process. We got through it all. Took about 40 tries of entering and re-entering our PINs. But I probably won't be asking SS's help again unless a customer insists. I would encourage everyone to try to DIY their eForms. There's no penalty for messing it up other than it getting kicked back.

To say I'm pissed is an understatement.

How would I move it over to the correct trust once it's approved?

I've been thinking about doing it with all my silencers anyway. They all came from Silencer Shop and they each have different trusts.

The Form 1 can’t be modified after submission. It will have to be cancelled and resubmitted with the correct trust info. I don’t bother with SS for Form 1s since eforms started. I always do my own.

If you want, you can form 4 it to the correct trust after it’s approved, but you’re better off just cancelling it because otherwise you’ll have to engrave it with the SS trust name that the F1 was approved with.

I was afraid of that. Now it's going to take another week for their "experts" to review the documents again.

Why not just file it yourself? It’s very easy. If you don’t want to get an electronic fingerprint file, you can still send in paper cards.

Ok everyone who’s saying just file it yourself (form 1) how do you get fingerprints and pics all in one place/file for ATF.

I chose an individual Form 1 thru silencer shop bc my friend said they were GTG- he has a Buncha single shot trust for cans & SBR.

I’m 4 miles from a kiosk and them doing the electronic prints was the reason I w et with them. I dropped an SBS on last Sunday and am still waiting fro review before I have to play dropping it to the ATF

If I’m reading your question right, Mike, it’s as simple as ATF E-Forms. I did all 4 of my Form 1s this way.

But I don’t know if I’m reading your post right. Form 1s are for creating or “manufacturing” an SBR or NFA item. Form 4 would be for buying cans or a factory made SBR. I’m not sure Eforms is set up yet for Form 4s like they are for Form 1s.

The picture is incredibly easy. You just take a passport style photo of yourself with a cell phone camera in front of a white or light colored neutral background, and upload it when filling out the eForm on the ATF webpage.

For fingerprints, there are a couple of options. First you can send in two fingerprint cards with the cover sheet you get after you submit the form. You can get free blank fingerprint cards from the ATF, and then you can roll your own, or many sheriff’s departments will do the cards for you. Or you can get a digital fingerprint file (.eft) and upload it when filling out the form, like you do with your picture. I think places like Capitol Armory will take a fingerprint card you send them and create the file and send it to you, or many UPS stores have Printscan kiosks that scan your prints and send you the file. Once you get the file, it’s yours forever and can be reused as often as you want without any added cost.

Yeah, the EFT file really makes this go a lot better.

easy do a trust to trust transfer yourself,

may have to do paper, vs online, but it is free

There’s not a source locally for my customers to get eft / digital prints. They have all been getting old style prints done though which gets mailed in with a form ATF emails you at the end of the eform process. They get approved in days to a couple of weeks still.

Otto I’m doing a form 1.
How do you do electronic fingerprints w/o going thru a place like silencer shop?
I wanted to do it efile so it would be faster

When I did the Form 4 a few days ago, I logged in as an FFL/SOT and there was a drop down menu for type of transferee. When I clicked on individual, it asked for his eForms username and PIN. Once that was entered, it pulled his eForms account right up. I have to say I have been impressed with eForms so far.
