Sorry if all this has already been covered - I see they're making reference to the 2015 code, but does the municipality have a code of ordinances that adopts a code? I've had some success backing down problem inspectors by putting the city ordinance in front of them which designates a different code than the one the inspector was quoting. Yes, but it's like all other things government related. They had to pass the code so everybody could find out what was inside. And in case you were wondering, I'm not done with you yet. We just need to make sure everything is possible before we jump back into things. Thanks to everybody else for their input as well. It has been useful. | |||

fwiw, I've never had a code official quote me the wrong code. they typically know which code they're under. also, the codes are drafted and debated for years before they are published and then more years until they are adopted. and of course, it is easy to find which code they're under. most municipalities list it on their building department website. I'm gonna vote for the funniest frog with the loudest croak on the highest log. | |||
