I know this question comes up quite a bit so I thought I would review what I bought in December. My old camera system was a cobbled together POE system, Blue Iris software, PC with 2 TB hard drive, Dahua cameras and Ethernet switch.

I have been looking at Lorex for a while and during their end of year sale picked up a 4 camera system, model 4KSDAI84-2. Since I had cat 5 cable installed it was easy to get going, the camera mounting was the same pattern as my Dahua cameras. It took me about 10 minutes to get software going.

I like the Lorex app on my phone so I can monitor the cameras, the night vision and picture quality is much better than my Dahuas and has a wider angle. The cameras also have microphones and speakers so I can hear and speak through my camera (neat feature for the one on my front door). So far I have had zero issues and wish I had gone with this when I first installed cameras (FYI I had a cheap wired system, replaced it with my Dahua POE system and now this). Any questions ask, if you are a first time installer I suggest this system.
