I think I have it but not sure. Maybe someone can help diagnose the symptoms. On a couple of occasions I felt a sharp pain on the inside of my elbow, say in the joint. The pain was only for a couple minutes. For the last month or so, I've has an ache in my forearm, on top near the elbow. Sometimes its worse when I rotate my hand. On occasion it does affect my grip strength and how far I can lift items. Is that Tennis Elbow or Carpel Tunnel syndrome. Mine developed in my left elbow from a lot of pistol shooting. My orthopedist buddy diagnosed it in two minutes. He suggested an elastic band that I wore one and half inches below my elbow. Bought it at Walgreens and wore it all the time. When it went away after two months I just wore it at the range. He said to give it time and not consider surgery or cortisone shots for at least a year. | |||

“Tennis Elbow” is also known as epicondylitis. For me it was chainsaw elbow. Since I was a dumbass and didn’t know what it was I just kept going. Pain is weakness leaving the body, right? Not on the case of epicondylitis. If you stop right away instead of keeping going until things are *really* pissed off and inflamed, the recovery is a lot quicker. Sigh, live and learn. A great PT was some help, but mostly it just needed time without being further aggravated. Trying to rest a bent wing is a huge pain in the neck. | |||

In my mid thirties helped friend reshingle his roof. I was on shovel detail. Took a break for lunch, got done eating I couldn't move my elbow. It took about a year but it did return to normal. | |||

Had it several times. It's a torn tendon. The ONLY thing that helps is that band with the squishy pad on it to stick the ripped tissue back into place. It'll take weeks. ____________________________ Eeewwww, don't touch it! Here, poke at it with this stick. | |||

I’ve had it for some 20-25yrs in both elbows on and off. My only relief is to baby it. I got it striper fishing, I would cup the reel and be like that for extended time. It was like carpal tunnel and tendinitis all at once. Couldn’t use my hand to do anything no zippers buttons using it wash myself etc was extremely painful. | |||

Thanks for _most_ of the comments. If you get this from beating off, I don't know how you didn't wear something else out first. Also, how hard are you squeezing, and are you doing it for others? PT is the most effective. I've got exercises that do the flexbar, but I might get one anyway. I have grip trainers, racket balls, and something from a brand called Ironmind that work to work-out the pain when that is possible. Ice. Ice is temporarily effective but no long term solution. In a similar fashion to morphine etc. When I got the cortisone, he actually did a poor mans needle assault. It was initially good but didn't hold. My activity has decreased since my new job, and I think I just hit the age/mileage sweet spot. "Just stop doing it," is entirely rational, but a rather ridiculous directive for blue collar workers. Decent sick/vacay time is key, short term disability is better. The reality is, you could sure gather a bunch of things like carpal tunnel etc. all wrapped up in one. ^^^^^^^^^^^^ It works by transfering the load to the muscles below the elbow, taking the strain off the tendon in the elbow. I wore it 24/7 and backed off my pistol shooting for a bit. Sorry it did not work for you. | |||

I've sufffer'ed on and off due to a hyperextension injury almost x20 years ago. Got a few bone spurs in there. If I do daily stretching on my forearm. I can usually keep it at bay. Train how you intend to Fight Remember - Training is not sparring. Sparring is not fighting. Fighting is not combat. | |||

I treat a lot of lateral epicondylitis and in 30+ years of practice it has never been in a tennis player. The constant torque of the tendon origin ( attachment at the elbow) when you move the wrist in extension is what aggravates it. You need to limit motion AT THE WRIST. To calm it down. I recommend a wrist splint ( like people with carpal tunnel wear) to limit motion at the wrist. Splint is worn at all times except for bathing ( yes even to bed at night) Also AGGRESSIVE ice application, 20-30 minutes 4-5 times daily every day regardless of pain level. Do both of these for a month, and almost all cases resolve | |||

I have battled "tennis elbow" for a long time, whether resulting from golf, too much keyboard / mouse time, etc. Started using one of these about 5 years when I start to feel it coming on and it has made the difference far beyond the strap with just the little pad.
