BigboreshooterMan who thought he was wearing 'stab-proof' vest dies after stabbing himself
http://www.foxnews.com/world/2...tabbing-himself.html A British man who believed he was wearing a "stab-proof vest" died last summer after he took a knife to his own chest, local newspaper Teesside Gazette reported Saturday, citing an investigation into his death.
Jordan Easton, 22, of Thornaby, reportedly was in a friend's kitchen on Aug. 23, 2017, when he stabbed himself. "While in the kitchen, he took hold a knife to demonstrate it was stab-proof and sadly realized it wasn’t the case," assistant coroner Karin Welsh said during a court hearing.
Easton reportedly was rushed to the hospital, where he died.
The newspaper reported that while his injuries were self-inflicted, there was no evidence that proved Easton purposely tried to harm himself.
The man's mother, Alison Price, said in court that Easton stabbing himself was "out of character," and added she "can't absorb it."
Friends described Easton, who had just turned 22 five days earlier, as a "one of a kind kid" with a "golden heart."
Easton's death was ruled a "misadventure," which Welsh said meant he victim died from consequences which were not intended.
"It seems clear that's the situation with Jordan," she said.

Rey HRHIf he bought it from Amazon he could get a quick refund. They might even let him keep the vest for his troubles.
"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." mbinkyThis is why the government in Britain needs to control knives. Because obviously the people who own them can't.
For all of our scientific advances throughout the last 200 years I am pretty sure the average IQ is on a downward trend. And I am pretty sure that when future people look at a graph tracking this there will be a big dip when it hits "birth of social media".

Soft concealable body armor, which I'm guessing this was, isn't
stab-proof, is it? Maybe against small blades, but a large enough knife would work its way between and cut the fibers, would it not?

No, standard soft armor is not "stab proof" and a small knife would make it worse. There are stab resistant vests on the market...apparently this Mensa candidate wasn't wearing one...
