The Yoop is slated for 10 inches of snow. Welcome, actually, due to our snow related tourism and businesses have been suffering from lack of snow. Several sled dog races have been cancelled for lack of snow and there was no snow on the ground for Christmas.

It's been Winter for almost 3 weeks now. Winter isn't coming, it's already here (just taking some places longer to figure it out is all - this storm might fix that)

And that's for sure the way it's been here in the PNW, and the fact that this is the first truly "winter" weather we might get yet is causing a lot of the "winter is coming" thoughts. For those of you in the places where winter starts in August, well just ignore and carry on with the snow blowing or whatever it is you guys do.

Sounds like you're planning to make French toast. Don't forget the maple syrup. And bacon. A whole lot of bacon.

They’ve already cancelled school in Tennessee, at least in our area. Just calling for high winds, rain, and tornados. Just an average Tuesday in TN. It’ll be 50 above zero.

While I passed through the educational system decades ago, I openly welcome this snowpocalypse opportunity so that my children may themselves walk uphill, both ways, in an arctic vortex with little more than their wits and a roll of duct tape to carry them through in the pursuit of higher education that they may share this hardship one day with my grandchildren. Should I have any...

It's snowing here in SW Wisconsin. The malamute and husky are both refusing a lawfully given order, to wit, "Get in the damned house!"

Yesterday, our fearless school leaders in my county in Southwest Florida canceled all after school activities for tomorrow. We aren't supposed to be getting anything until 6pm and even then, it's supposed to rain with 20mph winds.

I'm embarrassed.

This season has actually been quite the opposite in WI/MN. a brown Christmas in the 50s with a gentle spring rain. It’s almost mid Jan and the ground isn’t even frozen yet, still hanging in the 30s. People were waterskiing in MN on New Years Day when there’s normally 2-3’ of ice on the lakes.

Next week we are supposed to see our first sub zero temps of a low of 10 below. Normally in January we call that a warm spell.

This all works for me. One day closer to green grass. Oh yeah, we still have that too! I could have mowed my grass in December if the mower hadn’t been put away.

I am not BIPOLAR. I don't even like bears.
