Black92LXAmazon Fire Recast DVR. Why not build a FireTV into it??
Fire TV Recast, over-the-air DVR, 500 GB, 75 hours
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01J...cp_api_BFvTBbN2Y8MP2Was excited at first glance as an OTA DVR is all my home theater is missing.
But I don’t understand why they did not build a FireTV into the recast.
You’ll have to play content through an app on a separate FireTV device to display on to the TV.
So I am assuming it will be WiFi only and not hard wire. Not really digging that notion. No mention of anything but recasting by WiFi.
That is a looser for me.

snideraDon't you have Plex? It has a DVR built in, if you have a OTA/Cable tuner. HDHomerun is about $80, use your servers' HDD. THen you have it anywhere you have a plex client.

Black92LXI do/did.
Once I set up my camera system my computer is too bogged down to really run it well anymore.
I have most of the parts to build a dedicated machine for my cameras just need to collect a few more.
I may look into again. But by the time I pay for plex pass and a separate tuner I am about the same cost as the Recast.
