Would there be any interest in a stock body Trans Am series with new Camaros, Mustangs and Challengers?

Under what marque? Pontiac as a brand is defunct. You can't truly call yourself "peaceful" unless you are capable of great violence. If you're not capable of great violence, you're not peaceful, you're harmless. NRA Benefactor/Patriot Member

I love Trans Ams. The 78 and the 88s are my favorite body styles. If I only had the money. Let all Men know thee, but no man know thee thoroughly: Men freely ford that see the shallows. Benjamin Franklin

He's talking about a race league, not the car. Lighten up. fpuhan isn't the only one here who thought you were talking about a new 'Trans Am' car for purchase. I thought that was what this thread was about, too (like the new retro-styled Camaros, 'Stangs, and Challengers). I don't know jack about racing leagues, nor do I care to. I do like drooling on sports cars, though. There has been discussion here before about them - I believe Burt Reynolds also had a series of Camaros chopped into 'Smokey and the Bandit Trans Am Special Editions.' Still talking about the car, Hound Dog. That's not what this thread is supposed to be about. LOL I was a young kid in October 1968 at Pacific Raceway in Kent Wa. Is was the final race of the year for the 68 Trans Am series during the Heyday of the series. I will never forget the sounds those little V8 made in the above 2.0 liter class.

thanks for that link, I had thought TA had gone back to mostly imports, Vettes and/or dried up I used to watch it , and CART racing as much as I could, back when Boris Said, Tommy Kendall etc etc were the 'top names' in the series, then I think Chevy pulled out first, then back in , coverage seemed to drop off and I lost track https://chandlersfirearms.com/chesterfield-armament/

As Extraordinary as Everyone Else |
Back about 10-12 years ago Ford built a series of Mustang GT 350's for gentlemen racing. It had a sealed motor built by Rousch with a full roll cage and racing shocks with the interior stripped. I had a chance to shake one out then and thought it was pretty well put together. I think the series ran for a year or so but haven't heard anything recently. Porsche does this now with their GT4's and if you have enough money (and are good enough) you can get one of their 911 Cup's too. ------------------ Eddie Our Founding Fathers were men who understood that the right thing is not necessarily the written thing. -kkina

I had a 1976 TA with a 400 small block and 4 speed. It was a beast. Also had a 1980, it was a dog.

Only if there’s a market for it. I have the last year Pontiac made it. Pewter 2002 WS6. LS1 engine, 6 speed manual. The pop up head lights are the best part.
