Need one from Florida to Ohio.
Yup, going to be expensive but don’t have a choice at this point.

If you do it at the right time, get some kids from Ohio State to drive it back down for Summer break.

Big Grin

Kidding aside, maybe get someone to drive it back down? A free motor home ride can be a great little vacation for an Ohio family to get to Florida...then they fly home.

I might be able to help, with a variation on Patriot's suggestion, but I need a little more information, please.

What are the end-points? Cities in Florida and Ohio?

What date?

Bradenton to Cincinnati and ASAP.
Long story short family did not listen to me. Grandpa has been in poor shape grandpa does better in Florida vs. Ohio.
But Granny does not have much help down there for gramps.
I noted a few months ago that going to Florida was not the best idea and to realize if they went they needed to stay because while he was well enough at the time to fly that likelihood was probably not going to be the same later on.

Here we are and gramps has turned pretty bad granny and him need to get home.
And him in a motorhome is about the only option at the moment.

Of course this weekend is Memorial Day weekend so rates are extra high and so far no one that usually does a $500-$700 one way drop fee is not willing to do it for the Holiday weekend.

A large 15 passenger wouldnt work? The seats come out, you could move them to the back of the van

Thanks folks.
Motorhome is not going to be an option. Looked into medical transport both by land and air. Hospice has pretty much said not to bother.

I told my mom and grandmother back in October when they were planning to go back that they needed to plan for this to be his final trip and him not coming home.
They wanted to think otherwise. But we did have care and hospice options set for both Ohio and Florida. Just more difficult in Florida with everyone else being up north.
Reality has set in for mom and grandma.
Mom flys down tomorrow, bro flies Thursday, and I’ll drive down Monday unless the time comes quicker.
Don’t get pre-bereavement leave so have to plan to go on my days off. But they are quite generous with bereavement leave so we’ll deal with that when it is time to deal with that.

Very sorry to hear about your Grandpa's condition.

Here's hoping you and your family can get through the next stretch as peacefully as possible.

Hang in there, Black92LX

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Thanks.
The Alzheimer’s and dementia have been chipping away at him for awhile now. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer 6 months ago and with his age and state pretty much untreatable so we have been preparing.
He is 93 lived a good long life. It’s tough but also it is time for him to go Home.
