Nicely done. Captured a lot of sentiments and memories we can relate too.

Pretty great.
I had almost the same Suburban [87 Silverado] in high school, in blue with a tailgate, instead of the barn doors.

Barn doors and all.

That was great. Wonderful... but a sad part for me is it shows something I do not have any more.

A bit off topic but kind of in the same vein.

Little over a month ago I spent five days in her hospital, pretty serious, won’t bore you with the details. But once I got out I made a decision to give a hot rod project car to a friend so he, his son and grandsons could work on it and spend time together. He’s been a friend since 1967-68.

I could have sold it, it would have been parted out, the engine and transmission in itself is pretty valuable. Neither of my S-I-L’s have any interest in it, my grandsons are 3 mo, 8 and 9 y/o so they are no’s. So this was my game plan.

I’ve owned it since 1979, it was restored stock but around 2008 or so the resto-mod craze was on so that’s what it became. Only needs wiring, fuel and cooling system and a few tweaks to be driveable.

Both my daughters born in the 80’s grew up around it. It was rough to see it go, actually shed a tear or three over it. I do regret it going but I had to do what I had to do.

I just hope it builds memories for them now.

I love Chevy's Christmas ads...this one made me realize I'll have to keep my '06 Trailblazer forever (my oldest is 16 y/o, and he's grown up with this truck)!
