We use this card too. But we also have a Costco Citi Visa we use for gas (4%), travel (3%) and restaurants (3%). The Citi Double Cash card is used for everything else. The Amazon Prime card might have to go into the rotation since it offers 5% on Amazon purchases. Use it for Amazon only, plus maybe use it for my monthly recurring charges. It's such a pain to change the the recurring charge info when your card is compromised. Amazon Visa I shop almost exclusively online, and use Amazon 99% of the time. "We've done four already, but now we're steady..."

I primarily use my Costco credit card 4% gas, 3% restaurants, 2% Costco. It's also supplemented with an Amex everyday cash card that I used for groceries with 3% cash back. I noted the AmEx Platinum card mentioned. It used to be more interesting when you got free companion tickets; now that's gone, is it worth having one if you're not a frequent international traveler? _________________________ “ What all the wise men promised has not happened, and what all the damned fools said would happen has come to pass.”— Lord Melbourne

Capital One Sparks Business Card - 2% - probably makes me $15-20,000 a year. MDS

I have the platinum card for my side business and it's worth the cost of admission. I travel a fair amount, mostly domestic, and between the $200 airline credit, free wifi access (I think 10 flights worth) and access to the Centurion lounge, it's worthwhile. The $200 is good for purchases on board or baggage, mine go towards drinks usually as my baggage is covered with airline status, save for an overweight bag when I have tools. They also offer/offered reimbursement for Global Entry/Pre-Check but that's not something that you can utilize every year so it's somewhat of a waste. NRA Life Member Steak: Rare. Coffee: Black. +1 and it has another benefit if you travel outside the USA. They have no foreign transaction fee. Many other cards charge a 3% fee on all foreign charges, even those done on-line. Also, you can claim your cash reward without having to have a minimum charge dollar value.

I have the Pt (personal) and fly a few times a year, usually domestic. It's worth it to me since I use the $200 airline incidentals credit, Centurion Lounge network, Priority Pass network, SPG (Starwood) Gold benefits, and the Global Entry/TSA Pre credit. I don't give a FF about the $200/yr Uber credit. I also have the Citi Double Cash card, but hardly use it. I'm more focused on collecting AMEX MR points. __Phase plasma rifle in the 40-watt range__

UPDATE: I snagged a Discover, Capital One Quicksilver, and Citi Double Cash. Should have done this a long time ago. Thanks for the suggestions. This message has been edited. Last edited by: amals,
