I don't know the author but it was the acknowledgement at end of a Brad Thor novel

Well, that is what I did! Only had to travel 6000 miles to find her, but we have had nearly 61 years together. We did have our moments when younger, but neither of us regret being married to each other all these years.

I have always had a bad temper and told her how to deal with me if I got really angry. Leave me alone. At most, just come up and kiss me. She didn't take that advice at first. After one "incident" that problem was solved.

It worked for me. Though finding someone who fits that description wasn't an impossible hurdle to overcome. The MUCH better half has given me the best years of my life. Of all the mistakes I've made in my life, marrying her is not one of them.

Yeah, better be careful. That kinder, smarter, funnier, and more patient person could be a guy. Then what do you do? Eek

My wife is definitely kinder, smarter, funnier, and more patient than I. It’ll be 31 years for us next month.
