The pent up frustration at watching this country and culture under siege from the Left and it’s morally compromised drones, is understandable. As common citizens we only have one chance every couple of years to try to correct that. Whe what we hope for is less than ideal and not enough to right the ship, that frustration surfaces. It has for me in the past, especially when I consider the consequences for my family.

The only answer is a long game. Do what the Left did over the past 100 years. Yeah, 100 years to steer a culture. Do we have that kind of time? Probably not unless we organize, get active and learn how to convincingly proselytize conservative principles. If not, buckle up.

This was my experience as well at my voting station in FL. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. There were even Black people there who somehow overcame the significant challenges that Democrats think exist to obtain and show an ID to vote.

Fantastic, wish North Carolina did that. Not saying it was hard to vote in NC, just that it was a hassle. Long lines and slow election workers, literally one older gentleman was typing with the one finger method. Took me over two hours and it was early in the morning.

I used to debate and rationalize with people until I was blue in the face. I gave up and realized the only change I can influence are on my kids. I influence their views by being the kind of dad they can respect and look up to. If dad says this or that about a subject, then it must be the way and everyone else is lying or ignorant.


As for everyone else. IDGAF. I came to the realization in 2018 that everyone's mind is made up and you can't talk sense into anyone. So I keep my opinions to myself and vote. In Oregon, my vote didn't matter anyway and I highly doubt it was ever even counted. But hey, I still did it, even if it was symbolic.

I had one guy in 2018 prod me for my opinion. My response was simply "I can provide facts, logic and reason to you that are irrefutable, but in the end, you're going to read the first and maybe last sentence of my reply and conclude that I'm full of shit and you're not going to change your opinion anyway. So why waste my time?"

His reply was: "Fair enough..."

It was then that I banned myself from giving advise to anyone about anything except guns and ammo. Outside guns and ammo, nobody listens to me anyway. They are still going to do what they want to do, so why waste my time? They are just asking for someone to validate their feelings. Got a problem with your marriage or relationship? Gee, that's too bad. I hope you find a good therapist. Got a problem with your kid? So sorry, I'll pray God reveals the answer to you. Feeling depressed or suicidal, call a professional help line...

What am I doing now? I moved clear across country to a place where people think like me and where I can be myself. I voted and helped strengthen conservative foothold in Florida.

I studied the issues, read up on people and made my mind up before I went to the polling station

I don't recognize democrats as being fellow citizens - they're not. In my mind they're enemies of the country. I try not to associate with them in any manner. They're nothing more than vermin to me.

A similar process here in Dallas. ID scanned, log book signed, blank ballot printed, go to a machine and insert blank ballot and make choices (touch screen). When finished the ballot is printed with the votes (in English print) and you take it to the machine that tabulates and stores it. The polling place I went to had provisions for doing the process from the car for disabled voters, and mobile voting machines insides for those (like me) who were mobility challenged. Not a bad experience at all.

You can get the people who make things work well into positions where they can accomplish that. But it takes more than staying at home and complaining.

Missouri has enacted voter ID. I went to my precinct, they scanned my license, I signed on the screen, they gave me an option of paper ballot or machine, I voted, got my sticker, and left. Zero hiccups.

That's the way things go when the right people run things. And that's from all the way at the top, all the way down to those who volunteer to work the polling locations. Participation matters.

I posted what I have done because I had complaints a few posts from the bottom on page 1.

I voted and the one candidate on the ballot won again.

I voted, but perhaps I will not feel inclined to do so again. I don’t talk politics or religion so I will not persuade anyone on anything. Another person’s religious beliefs or political affiliation is none of my business.

As another member mentioned in an earlier post, politicians say what they think their voters want to hear. If they get elected, they do as they d@mn well please and try to build a war chest to get elected again. They don’t care if they are lying, stealing, or cheating. It becomes a career path not service to the nation. It’s mostly about the $$$$$$ now.

It is an exercise in futility for the common working man to vote. A pox on both sides. Neither side is interested in doing what is best for the country, just what is best for them or their affiliation. Efffff them all.

I give money to candidates I strongly support…a pittance, but it might help. My Florida contributions bore fruit and for that, I am pleased.

Kentucky is much of the same thing. And results were posted in a couple of hours. County clerks were at home in bed by 10.

You can complain about the election. Or the Democrats. Or the Republicans. And wanting to take some kind of steps to ensure our Republic survives is laudable.
But the one thing you cannot fight, change or influence is the outright, readily observable stupidity of half the population of the country. If our society collapses, it will be this group of folks who made it happen.
Next time you go out in public, take your mental stupidity detection meter with you. Most of the time it will be pegged in the red!

And no where will that be more likely to happen than in a Trader Joe's.

My wife and I stopped into one on the way back from her eye appointment the day after the election. Fully 1/4 to 1/3 of the customers were wearing face diapers. After grabbing a stack of pound plus chocolate bars (we don't get there often, as it's out of our way) I told my wife "I'll wait for you in the car."

I couldn't stand being surrounded by those people.

Btw: It may be sour grapes or whatever, but Michigan Republican gubernatorial candidate Tudor Dixon called out the Michigan GOP for being essentially useless as teats on a boar hog. IMO she's right. It is.
