Curious if anyone still owns an 8 ft. Cargo bed.Which do you currently own .Eight footSix footFive and a halfFive foot

Mine is 6 1/2 foot. Wish it was 8', but constraints of suburban living makes a truck that long not so practical for me.

Yup, a crew cab with an 8 foot bed is a land yacht. My regular cab 8 footer about as long as my Double Cab Tundra was with a 6.5

I used to have a 8’on my Dodge Ram.

Yes, its turning radius is measured in acres. With the hubs locked in, Astronomical units.

I think my double cab Tundra is about 6'6".

Previous trucks were crew cab duallys with 8' beds.

I miss the long bed hauling , but not the turning radius and parking fiascos!

Saw a comment here recently about how only morons drive short bed crew cab pickups and had to choose to ignore it. I had a crew cab '86 Chevy Scottsdale with an 8' bed when I was in my early 20's, and while I loved that truck, it was an absolute nightmare to drive it and park it anywhere but out in the countryside. Farmer, rancher, retiree with a huge plot of land, sure. A young man trying to make his way in the world driving the Queen Mary around? Not so much.

Crew cab with a 5ft 7" bed these days, and that's about as much as I want to deal with trying to park anywhere in the city. Most of the time, the bed size is more than sufficient for my needs. Occasionally, I wish it were the 6.5" bed, but more often, I'm using the backup camera to get fully into a parking space and noticing how much of the front end hangs into the travel lane of most parking lots.

I have a 3500 GMC crew cab with the standard bed which is 82.3”. Plenty of room to carry what I need.

‘87 GMC regular cab dually, w/ 8’ bed. But I didn’t choose the truck for the bed length, only for the fun/cool factor.

2003 F350 4wd crew cab 8’ bed
2018 Silverado 1500 6.5’ bed
2024 Silverado 1500 4wd crew cab 6.5’ bed

The best are those little 4.5’ beds lol. You can fit your Yeti with stickers on it in there full of Mikes hard Lemonade.

I agree with smudge. On the new superduty it came down to a super cab or crew cab. One with the 8' bed the other with the 6'7" bed. Ended up with crew and SB. Everything is a compromise.

People should choose truck bed length as well as cab configuration by how they plan to use it which is why various versions are offered.

Or people can just choose what the fuck THEY want because THEY can! Much like guns and ammo, college football teams, candy, potato chips etc.!

I grin at the farmers in the area.

The Sunday "go to meeting " pick up is a crew cab short bed.

And then they have a long bed for 80% of their errands running, breakfast or brunch meetings and trailer towing.

A Dually that’s used to tow a 40 gooseneck enclosed trailer.
There’s a auxiliary fuel tank that takes up the first 18” so the bed’ effectively smaller.

My Colorado has a 5 foot bed. I've had it five years now and yet to wish I had a longer bed. If I do need more room I will just use one of my trailers.
