A lot of nice features but $$$$ and weight. What do you think? Me...I hope my 1990 C2500 follows me to the grave. 41

I bought my 2020 Tundra new three years ago, with the thought that it will be the last I need to buy. Since then prices have really gone up and I feel my decision was the right one. I would not buy any EV at this point, especially a truck that I use for travel and towing. Some day they may figure out how to make them so you can use them and not run out of power long before you should.

This. That's truly awful looking.
Darn good trucks those GMT400s were. I miss my '94. Currently have a 2001 and plan to keep it as long as I can keep it running and the rust doesn't break it in half.

If these vehicles are the future then they need to make a compelling argument for their existence. It needs to have a superior towing capacity and range when compared to a gas/diesel truck. What pisses me off is that this tech does make sense for short distance commuters and such a vehicle could be made very affordable and accessible. But that’s not nearly the status symbol as say a Tesla Model S or EV Hummer. It’s interesting to see some of the most ingenious and creative designs in the electric world get ignored or priced out of any realistic market. Brammo/Victory brought to market an e-motorcycle with a transmission, clutch, tach and a good deal of emphasis on making it feel like a normal (fun) motorcycle. Unfortunately Brammo/Victory’s ebike cost close to $20k at debut (though there were tax credits for a bit) and brought with it the power and performance about on par with a $7,700 Suzuki SV650 V twin sport bike so it was a very hard sell. Ford’s e truck was torpedoed by a not so flattering YouTube video highlighting its abysmal towing range. It’ll be interesting to see how the Chevy Silverado EV sells. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The price of liberty and even of common humanity is eternal vigilance

Regular Chevy trucks are too good to be spending $70k on this thing. Maybe the next gen of EV where the batteries are much better/safer.

I'm interested in the GMC AT4 version; if they put the tesla style charger on it. I suspect I'll end up with the new hybrid Tacoma anyhow.

Technically interesting and (as I have said before) a great deal of performance potential. Now wake me up when it can A, do actual work, and B, Joe Poorschmuck can afford it.

I’m going the other way. Once we’re settled into Tennessee and my shop is done. I’m putting a Cat motor in an old Dodge one ton dually. Then I’m done. You’re a lying dog-faced pony soldier

The only reason they are the future is because the government is forcing it upon us. Very few manufacturers would bother with EVs if they were not being forced that way. Personally, I think a plug in hybrid with about a 75 mile range is what is really needed. The idea of one or the other is nonsense they both have their place, and if you team them up I think that is the best option for many folks.
That and the fact that when it was introduced the base price was like $39,500 and now it is $59,000 ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. Chevy/GM was literally the first adopter of EV's. Long time before Tesla. They have not done a good job of promoting it, but if I were to have an EV, it would be a Chevy or better yet, a Tesla Supertruck. As the supertruck is not out yet although they keep saying "soon"......you have 2 choices. Wait, or get the Chevy. Prices will come down. Went out to hike a trail with my brother today. He has 2 Ev's. We took the Chevy Bolt. The calculation was that it cost us $2.00 in electricity to get there and back. Had we taken my wifes Jeep Wrangler, the same trip would have cost $29++ in gasoline. Of course, the internal combustion engine would need a bunch of other things added via maintenance that an EV doesn't need. Oil changes for example.... The acceleration in the EV's is amazing...This message has been edited. Last edited by: jimb888,

GM created the first modern mass produced EV. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_Motors_EV1 I test rode in one in San Diego. I work in the automotive world. If anyone thinks this EV transformation will stop, they are (to be polite) conservative or (to be inflammatory) a Luddite. There can be no doubt that electrification is forced, unwanted, unneeded, ill-advised, expensive, hurtful, harmful, life-changing, and to most of us, saddening. ------- Trying to simplify my life...

My dad was working for Saturn when the EV1 came out. I think he got to attend a promo event for it, not sure if they got rides/drives. The Enemy's gate is down.

I mean... I drive an EV. So I'm partial. It works for me and is super fun to get behind with the torque. But as others have said. That Alpine body style... come on guys. You could have done so much better than that. I think Rivian has one of the best looking EV trucks. Hope they make it.. time will tell.
