Is it possible to recover my photos or are they gone forever? Android phone and I didn't have anything backed up. All seems lost but my outdated resume. Can I get the photos back on my phone?

Unless they were being automatically backed up to something like the cloud or an SD card in the phone, pretty sure those photos are history after a factory reset. ~Alan Acta Non Verba NRA Life Member (Patron) God, Family, Guns, Country Men will fight and die to protect women... because women protect everything else. ~Andrew Klavan

Possible they can be recovered by a pro that knows what he is doing. I subscribe to the YouTube channel of a guy that does amazing things with failed/broken phones but he is iPhone specific I believe. He list 300 to 400 bucks average for data recovery. The photo files will have been renamed upon reset so they are ignored by the operating system but may still exist and can be seen and recovered via specialized software. I expect someone else will chime in with some suggestions... Collecting dust.

Can it be done? Definitely. Can it be done by you? Probably not. (Not trying to offend but data recovery experts are few and far between, relatively speaking). Professional data recovery isn't cheap at all, FYI. If there's nothing that you HAVE to have, it might be better to cut your losses and keep a better backup next time. That said, you're the one that can answer that question. "In order to understand recursion, you must first learn the principle of recursion."

Went through something similar last year. I never keep more than weeks worth of photos on my phone. Sundays I dump everything to a SSD tied to one of my computers. Ive been told by several people that unless you’re willing to spend big bucks that what you had is gone.

Android phone? Did you have the app Google Photos installed? It may have been backing up your photos automatically. On a computer, go to photos.gooogle.com and log in using your gmail credentials. What type of android phone? Samsung? Pixel? Motorola?

This is probably akin to locking the barn door after the horse is stolen, but if you're an Amazon Prime member, Amazon offers unlimited storage of your still photos. I think that there is a limit for videos, but not for stills. הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים
