sig2392appliance question ice maker hookup
Bought a Frigidaire/Electrolux column freezer for my pantry.
The paperwork for hooking up the freezer waterline is mostly for hooking up a refrigerator with a freezer pair.
Does anyone know if I can just hook up the waterline to the freezer and be good to go?
Or do I have to open the back and run lines internally to some valve to make it work?
The combo needs to change hose connections but I have only the freezer.

walker77I can't answer your question. But I will tell you to ditch the PVC water line that came with the fridge. Ours broke one night about 10 years ago due to being old and brittle. Who knows how long the water had been running but the hard wood floors in the kitchen was covered in water. I went down in the garage below and there was water dripping on the cars from the ceiling.
I replaced that line with a braided stainless line that has some kind of auto shut off if there is a surge of pressure like a broken line. I got it at Lowes.
After that happened we now shut off the water to the whole house whenever we leave town. We were out of town the weekend before this happened. If it were to have happened then it would of been breally bad.

bryan11The PCV line to our fridge started leaking as well after a few years, so we replaced it. A year or two later the connection inside the fridge started leaking, so I disconnected it entirely.

sig2392I already have a stainless steel hose replacement, if I don't need to go internal I am good.
