simple, my several year old Jaden cheap thermal printer for postage labels is giving me issues

it works great from one computer for USPS, needs to reload drivers etc from a new machine, and even then has some issues wiht the labels etc

it is not too compliant with UPS labels,
(I am still printing on paper for those and putting in a sleeve on the box)

need to upgrade to a new machine that integrates with both USPS (thru a 3rd party company) and UPS, using the standard 4x6 labels I order thru UPS,

I am a small business that prints probably 50-75 labels a week, sometimes more, and only use USPS for small packages and UPS for some ammo and long gun packages,

anybody use such a printer , and if so what and pros/cons?

You have mail. I might have a never-used thermal label printer.

Alternative to a dedicated label printer. Avery has peel and stick labels, various sizes, that work fine in a standard ink jet or laser printer. Office supply stores (Office Depot, Staples) and Amazon have lower priced knock-offs of the Avery labels.

UPS will send you some at no charge -- check their website.

Zebra. WHen I used to work for a pharmaceutical software company some sites like hospitals had Zebra printers. Some desktop and some the size of a desktop PC. I worked there for 7 years and only one had to be fixed out of hundreds in the field.

V Tail, email replied,

should have mentioned, I am fully versed in freeby supples and lables, thru USPS and UPS,

biggest issue , I guess, is to make sure it is compatible with the UPS and USPS (I use XPS Shipper/ Descartes for US Mail labels, with a heck of a discount) , my Jaden does not play well with UPS label formating

We rented a Zebra through UPS and they provided the labels. It was only a few bucks a month and never gave us any trouble.

I worked in a huge industrial food processing plant where we made hundreds of wrapped pallets a day, thousands per week and we used Zebra printers exclusively for bar code labels. They were extremely reliable and if an issue arose was generally just a cleaning required to get the unit back online. The printers were easy for the operators to change print medium and labels. Highly recommended.

For a long time we used a Dymo 3 part thermal printer, after a bit we created a envelope template so we no longer need to buy labels, we can just print UPS/USPS addresses with bar code and postage straight on the envelope using a laser printer.

Postage is through Stamps.com, it supports all kinds of laser and thermal printers.

I use Descartes/XPS as mentioned, for USPS, and they will support UPS, but I have not attached my acount to them, yet,
they are also cheaper than click and ship, and stamps.com ( and were recommended by a USPS postmaster)

I have a dymo lable printer to use for my gunshow tags ( the price tags on the actual firearms) that works great, and it has been used and abused, (I take it to shows sometimes to price stuff I buy there)
