Rats deserting a sinking ship? One can only hope.

Every Nevada Democratic Party staff member quit after Democratic socialists won party leadership roles, according to a new report.

Alana Mounce, the party’s executive director, reportedly notified the newly elected party chair, Judith Whitmer, that she and other staff members were resigning, according to The Intercept.

The party’s operations director, research director, communications director and finance director all resigned after the left-wing candidates of the “NV Dems Progressive Slate,” which was run by the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and the Left Caucus, beat out the Democratic Party’s “Progressive Unity Slate” on Saturday.

“I knew I couldn’t work with her,” an anonymous staffer said of Whitmer, “and watch her destroy the years of hard work so many operatives put into making our state party the best state party in the country.”

Fork them all. A socialist wouldn't want any of that terrible gambling money, would they?

I'll state my position here. Usually one might consider the enemy of my enemy as a friend. The progressive dems may be an enemy of the socialists but they will never be my friend. They can both go to hell.

They were expendable and didn’t know it. Big Grin

They are the enemy that allowed it to happen. I call it the start of the karma they do richly deserve.

It's a bit telling that they think of themselves as 'operatives' IMO...

Sure. But that doesn't mean that -

- Reid Democrats won't vote for a Republican out of spite or in order to dislodge the Democratic Socialists from state party office,

- the Nevada Dems aren't reeling in disunity,

- much of the Nevada Dem party outreach machinery isn't broken until a whole new crew of Democratic Socialists learns the ropes,

- or that the next election or two won't be harder for the Dems to steal.

IOW, Vegas or no Vegas, Nevada looks like a pretty fat target in 2022 and 2024.

^^By party insiders, per the article. Several hundred votes doesn't tell you much about the grass roots. Now let's see which rats are more competent.

I don't believe a word of it. They quit because they were going to be fired. That is what happens in regime change. All the BS by both sides that was quoted in the article was just that: political BS.

Seems if they no longer need their useful idiots...

I like how they are still referred to as 'democratic' instead of 'democrat'. Guess they sound better that way?

I did find this "tempest in a teapot" interesting as we are in the process of making Nevada our official place of domicile.

It seems that the old white guy, Bernie Sanders, will be in charge of the Nevada Democratic party in 2024. That makes it interesting for Joe. Bernie is to the Democrats as Trump is to the Republicans: divisive; but have many ardent supporters. Trump motivates the ultra-conservative Republicans and Bernie motivates the ultra-liberal Democrats. One raises huuuge amounts of money and the other gets out the vote. Both parties are split. The old-line union Democrats don't support Bernie nor do the RHINO's support Trump. The party that is better at healing itself will win in 2024. Bet on it.
