You don’t fix faith, River. It fixes you. |
We drove past that circus yesterday. It was a beautiful - picture postcard morning. My 6 yr old pointed out the clowns closing distance and said - "Look at that Daddy. Those people are stupid!" ---------------------------------- "If you are not prepared to use force to defend civilization, then be prepared to accept barbarism.." - Thomas Sowell

No one can blame their ignorance of wild animal behavior in places like Yellowstone on cartoons or Grizzly Adams. Signs about the dangers have been conspicuously posted there for literally decades, and they’re probably more obvious than when I was there myself long ago. It’s like any other dangerous activity whose fans believe—consciously or subconsciously—that it won’t happen to them. I could cite any number of examples that are exhibited by the very people who criticize others, but that would accomplish nothing because the people to whom it would apply would only think, “Oh, no; I’m different.” ► 6.4/93.6 “ Enlightenment is man’s emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one’s own understanding without another’s guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one’s own mind without another’s guidance.” — Immanuel Kant
