If I had such an animal I could open the door and quickly suck out the ash in less than 30 seconds with out turning off the stove it would allow me to turn off and clean once a month vs once a week now. Anyone have such an item that works well?

Bad idea to hot vac-----------be safe---do it cold.

I use a regular ShopVac - but with a CleanStream filter and a drywall filter bag:

Works great

I see they make a few ‘hot ash’ vacuums, never crossed my mind. Most are tailored towards pellet stoves.

I’m a wood burner going way back, conventional stove. Mine empties with the pan after falling through the grate. Everything stays in metal containers until cooled off.

I guess with some setups, a hot ash vacuum may be helpful. They have lots of reviews of models on Amazon.
