That is a question everyone down in the general vicinity is asking. One of the core reasons the group released was to protest the recent church shooting northeast of Nashville. But, as far as I have read there were no local links in Shelbyville and the shooting occurred more than an hour away.

Personally, I think law enforcement should form a ring to keep innocent folks from wandering in there and let the 2 sides beat the snot out of each other. They are both mostly cowards. Lock the area down with fencing and other barricades and have a gate for each side to enter. Give them a handout saying once trouble starts no one goes in or out until the fighting stops. No EMS, no LEO, nothing. Post snipers in a few locations with the freedom to pull the trigger the moment anyone spots a firearm inside the protected area.

My bet is 75-80% would leave and not go in.

The Klan used to pull stupid crap up here in Cincinnati every winter. They would put up a cross downtown to celebrate being an embarrassment to the rest of us, or whatever they thought the reason was. Every year folks would go down and knock their cross over, and for a while it would make the news. After the news started ignoring them, and the city made it fairly difficult to sit there and be overt assholes, they kinda just went away. Seems like they wanted attention, and ignoring them took all the fun out of it for these idiots.

No guarantees, but I'm betting half the reason they pull this crap is for attention. If you really, really wanted to stop these gatherings, the best thing to do would be deny them the attention. No news, no talking about it on forums. No counter protests. Don't even bother staying away from the protest area. Just go about your business and don't even look at them. Forming a counter protest, sadly, gives these folks EXACTLY what they want: conflict and attention. You really want them to go away? Take away the attention and the conflict. Otherwise, they get what they want. Do these idiots actually want to convert people to their cause? No. They don't care what you believe in. They are just trolls, saying hideous shit for attention.

The really sad part is that the counter protesters seem to want the exact same things: conflict and attention. They both WANT someone to yell at and fight with. They WANT to see themselves in the news. It's a bunch of trolls trolling another bunch of trolls. Honestly, if the whole group gets into a big brawl, BOTH sides will probably go home happy! How fucked is that?

The Murfreesboro square looks like a hurricane zone. All boarded up, fences everywhere, stupid. Lots of old buildings that I hope these assholes don't burn or vandalize.

They need to ban heavy jackets and umbrellas, that should take some of the wind out of their sails.
