I'm from the old school.

1) ask
2) tell
3) make

Your ass is cuffed and stuffed within 60 seconds. Tell the judge.

Um, okey dokey. Whatever you say. You've only been here a short time, but we've got a lot of hard working caring government workers here. It would be wrong to imply that private sector workers are somehow more effective, if that's what you were indeed trying to say in your last sentences there.

Anyone who thinks this was a good use of his time and the time of his fellow officers is a moron. Clear enough for you?

So when the ambulance can't get thru because of every double parked and someone dies, then it becomes a good use of time? Or do you eliminate the problem prior to that?

Great point. Not only was he doubled parked for an extra hour, there were 3 other police cruisers double parked blocking the roadway. All the ambulances in the video trying to get by must not have appreciated it. Ironic that the offense that they are citing him for, they're doing themselves in triplicate. Government hypocrisy at its finest.

My god, for a gun forum what a bunch of drama queens. Goto any major city where people double park all the time and you won't find the type of response this officer gave. You think this is professional? It's a power trip. If the vehicle is endangering others, tow it. If this guy refuses to produce his license and registration, cite him. If the guy does something that's an arrestable offense, then STFU already and arrest him.

The black guy isn't a bad guy. He's not a criminal and it would have taken 10 seconds to explain why he was being pulled over instead of repeating "license and registration" and "lawful order" over and over 60+ times. Would the officer have acted the same way if that was someone he knew in the vehicle? How about if you were the officer in that situation and that was someone you knew in the driver's seat, would you talk to him/her the same way? I didn't think so.

Want an example of how to handle a routine traffic stop?

Want to know the difference between the two officers? Goto 1:29. Use your brain and tell me why one officer is repeating an order 60 times calling for backup and the other is handing out tickets with the recipients thanking him for it.

The guy in the car had been told to move his vehicle, as it was blocking traffic. When he did not comply the officer got out of his car and the video started.

Period!
Meanwhile, in another area of the U.S., we have an officer being written up for safely removing a deadly weapon from an individual.
This officer did everything by book, as is expected, and anyone who doesn't understand needs pull their head out of their ass and examine how we got to this point.

So he was blocking traffic. The cop responds by blocking more traffic. Then he called in backup blocking more traffic. If the flow of traffic was so important, then why didn't he have him move the vehicle before citing him? I don't know who's stupider the cop or the people defending his actions.

That's right up there w/ "why speed to stop a speeder". If speeding is so dangerous, we can't commit to it.
Keep at it Sherlock.

Hey Holmes, you have to speed to catch a speeder. You don't have to double park to cite a person who has double parked. Cops can instruct people to move their vehicles, it happens all the time.

The fact that the guy "assumed the position" when all the police officer was asking for was his license and registration, should tell you everything you need to know.

He's baiting the officer, and it's not his first time. He looks like a pro baiter, maybe even a master.

Considering it was Baltimore, this is probably the only way the officer can do his job without having to worry about being prosecuted by the DA.
