Currently have a Citizen CZ Hybrid Smart watch. It does what I need but is just OK. I love that it is a full metal watch, has true analog hands, battery lasts a very long time.

However the app is complete and utter garbage it has also started loosing connection to my phone a lot and I miss a lot of notifications. So looking for something to replace it.

Garmin has seemed to rise to the top of SmartWatches. Been doing a lot of research and has all I need plus more. My main question is how customizable is the watch face and is it pretty easy to do?

Things I must have on my face at the same time.
I like the look of analog hands So I want watch hands and not digital time display, date with day and date, current temp/weather, daily steps.

Also when it comes to notifications can I pick and choose which individual apps notifications I want and don’t want to be sent to the watch?

Still EDC my CZ as well. The app is awful.

I was getting the random disconnects as well, found that turning bluetooth off, then back on, usually resolved it.
Must have been an app update at some point that addressed it, it doesn't seem to lose connection nearly as often anymore.

If someone else came up with a similar watch with a better app & a bit more responsive UI on the watch, without being crazy priced, it'd be a winner.

Here's a link to the watch faces for that watch...

https://garminrumors.com/every...nd-solar-watch-face/

I currently have a Garmin Venu 3 (moved up from Instinct Solar) and it gives me a lot of control over the apps I choose to use so the Instinct 3 'may' also. I would think that you'd be able to find some YouTube videos that might show you what to expect.

Battery life was a big factor in my choosing Garmin watches. I'm currently getting 8-10 days per charge.

Buy previous vintage Garmin watches and enjoy them.

I am returning to Garmin for my sports work since Garmin makes watches with actual buttons, which are far easier to control than the touchscreen.

I have some money to a retail establishment that I have to use soon or it goes away. Not much of anything else they have is really sticking out to me.

Will likely pull the trigger.
The 50mm is a big boy probably too big to be honest but 6 more days of battery life is huge.

Recently purchased the Garmin fenix 8, $1200 watch, I returned after two days. The interface with my iPhone was worthless, the App sucked. I bought the newest Apple smart watch Ultra 2, it Rocks.
If you are an Apple guy I don’t recommend a Garmin.

Can you tell me more about what you did not like about the app interface. I have a Citizen CZ Hybrid now and there is almost zero chance there is an interface on the planet worse than this one.

As for the Apple Watch I hated it (and am an Apple guy) a watch is not meant to be rectangular and charging daily is an absolute no for me.

Fenix 7. Using that along with ChatGPT as a trainer/nutritionist has been life changing.

To add: I gave up the Apple Watch for the Garmin.

I ended up ordering the 45mm as the 50mm is just so big.

I have a Garmin Epix Pro (they might have discontinued the model) with amoled screen. There are about 10 different factory watch faces with multiple colors to pick from, including analog watch hand choices, and there are many more faces you can download.

I get 16 days between charges on the 47mm size (beats the pants off an Apple watch). One caveat, if I do a mountain bike ride and turn on the satellite activity tracking it burns 25 to 40% of the battery.

I have a few SIGs.

Ended up with 50mm it’s big but not crazy big on my wrist and the added battery life is well worth it.

This thing is wild. I doubt I will ever realize or use a quarter of its capabilities.

Lots of learning an YouTube watching to do.

Have several Garmin watches (original Instinct Solar, Fenix 6 Pro Solar, and Instinct 2x Solar). Between them and a slew of Garmin dashcams I'm pretty heavily invested in the Garmin ecosystem and have zero complaints beyond random disconnects on the Fenix. I bought it used though off of Reddit so might be that I wasn't original owner/register(er?). Really like the look of the newest Fenix 8 Solar but I'll be honest, the Instinct 2x gets the most wear as its techy enough and does everything I need without being overdone.

Success always occurs in private, and failure in full view.

Complacency sucks…

My point exactly! I love me some Hamilton but that thing is atrocious.

Couple weeks in and I am digging it.
Battery lasts about 8 days which is fine by me. I don’t have energy saver on.

Have one of the stock faces that works well. Not fooled with that IQ Connect or whatever it is called for new faces.

Got all my daily need stuff figured out.

Now going to play with the workout suggestion stuff.
