sgalczynWhen I had my water heater replaced - plumber had to add a regulator on the main to the house and expansion tank at the heater - code now.
City pressure near 100 psi - code puts it <70

WoodmanI put PRVs in commercial buildings that do not have outlets on them. Thank God!
The Watts 25AUB-Z3 Pressure Reducing Valve, ¾" is the one I use. No discharge, just a pressure reducer.
Back flow devices, those have an outlet to which you cannot attach a closed pipe. And when they blow, watch out.

nhtagmemberthis is on my primary water service - I have two PRV's on my water heater - due to the design of my house, it is not near an exterior wall so the discharge pipe runs to a floor pan - I have assumed the risk of it not venting to the exterior
apparently that's relatively common around here
