Duke’s Mayo
As many of you know, I retired 5 1/2 years ago. I finally spent my first winter snow birding down in Florida. Having heard about Duke’s Mayonnaise here for years, but unable to buy it locally, I bought some on my first grocery shopping trip in FL, and must admit it’s good stuff.

I liked it enough to buy some to bring home for some of my friends here in Michigan to try for themselves. Imagine my surprise when on my first trip to Walmart after I returned home, I found it stocked on the local Walmart shelf here!

Thanks WallyWorld for finally bringing us yankee’s a little taste of the south!

Now if they could also bring some of that great Blue Bell ice cream!

Upon returning to live NC last year, was glad to be able to start buying Dukes again, among many other things of course. Its all we buy mayo-wise...

It's good but not worth the money. Aldi's brand is a great alternate at a much better price.

Bart: Alright, we'll settle this like men, with our fists.

I picked some up the other day at H-E-B when shopping. They also had Blue Plate, which I think has been referenced here before too. I’m not much of a mayo guy but what little I do eat tends to be the Japanese Kewpie brand.

Success always occurs in private, and failure in full view.

Complacency sucks…

At Costco it's $7 for a gallon, can't think of a reason why not to get Duke's, we all love it here.

If you eat enough Mayo that the price comes into consideration... well, damn... Wink

I've been a brand-specific guy for years. Hellmann's has been my choice. But I'll admit, Duke's is creakier. $4 a jar locally.

Yeah – I apply a lot of mayo (herbs & seasoning mixed in). Branston Original Pickle in the cup.

Serious about crackers.

Yep, it's a BOGO at Publix, grabbed a couple this weekend and they are in the pantry.

Daughter got two Helmans and gave us one, the difference is amazing, haven't had Helmans in a while. Dukes is much better...

We get a bootlegged gallon from my MIL when she snowbirds.

Lasts us a year till her next trip. I'll have to check our Wally World.

Since its not available out West, I order it via Amazon. I cook a lot and Duke's has a distinctive tang, that Best Foods and others don't have.

The Japanese mayo called Kewpie is another that I use, it serves as a good base if you're looking to make a dipping or, burger/sando sauce.

It's also the only brand that still comes in a full qt. (32 oz. vs 30 oz for the others)

Was a big hellmans fan for many years until we had a mayo thread here about 5 yrs ago and someone mentioned Dukes. Tried it and haven't looked back. Guess I need to try Aldi's.

For a jar that size you need a PB-JIFE spreader. Intended for PB, but good for mayo too.

Dukes is fine but still not as good as making your own.
Fresh, tasty and not hard at all to make.
My Go to especially on BLT's. Smile

Here it's like $4 for a squeeze bottle that's 32 ounces I think. I wouldn't call it expensive and it's worth the price, but as another member mentioned Publix supermarket (which covers most of the SE of the country) often runs it Buy One Get One free......so it's $2......

I've tried Duke's on several occasions over the years but I still keep going back to Blue Plate. Both brands are readily available here. No Aldi's here so we haven't tried that.

When I lived in So. Alabama, finding Duke's was no problem. Here in Az., Duke's is non-existent as far as I know.
